Academic Interventions

At Pacioretty Academics, we are deeply committed to supporting students with learning disabilities through targeted academic interventions designed to meet their unique needs.

Every student receives individualized goals based on their specific strengths and challenges, which serve as the foundation for customized lesson plans. Utilizing multi-sensory, research-based instructional methods, and implementing weekly progress monitoring to track each student’s development, allows us to make timely and data-driven adjustments to ensure lessons remain efficient, effective, and aligned with their academic growth.

We believe that parent input is essential in creating a comprehensive support system for students, ensuring that strategies used during tutoring are reinforced at home and aligned with what’s happening at school. Our team collaborates closely with families to understand each child’s broader educational context and, when appropriate, incorporates support for 504/IEP improvement.

We also offer educational consulting and are happy to refer families to additional specialists or resources when further intervention or evaluation is needed, helping to build a well-rounded support network for every learner.

Types of learning disabilities we support:

Executive Function Coaching and ADHD Support

Starting in 5th grade, our executive function coaching empowers students to develop the skills they need to become independent, confident learners. Through the use of Socratic questioning, we guide students in developing metacognitive strategies that help them reflect on their thinking, problem-solving approaches, and learning habits.

Coaching sessions focus on building essential organization and study skills, such as time management, task initiation, prioritization, and test preparation. By fostering these skills, students learn how to plan, organize, and prepare for assessments on their own.

The ultimate goal of our executive function coaching is for each student to graduate from sessions with the tools and confidence they need to manage their academic responsibilities independently and successfully.

For elementary students, we help improve their executive function skills by integrating them directly into academic content, allowing for meaningful and relevant practice. Our approach targets key areas such as task initiation, sustained engagement, and task completion within the context of real schoolwork.

Through frequent and consistent prompting, we model strategies like self-talk and self-check-ins, guiding students to become more aware of their thinking and actions. This ongoing support helps develop metacognitive skills, enabling students to monitor their focus, manage distractions, and follow through with assignments more effectively.

Over time, students internalize these strategies, gaining the tools they need to work more independently and successfully across academic settings.

Academic Support

We provide personalized academic support designed to help each student reach their full potential. We begin by setting clear, individualized goals that address the student’s specific needs and learning objectives. These goals serve as the foundation for customized lesson plans that target areas for growth while building on existing strengths.

Regular progress monitoring allows us to track improvement, adjust instruction as needed, and ensure that each session remains focused and effective. We also keep parents informed with consistent feedback, creating a collaborative approach that supports the student’s success both in and out of the tutoring environment.

Test Prep

Our test prep support is designed to build both confidence and competence by addressing each student’s unique needs through a structured, personalized approach.

We begin by establishing a baseline to identify specific areas that require support, allowing us to create a customized plan tailored to the student’s strengths and challenges. The first phase focuses on filling in academic gaps and teaching key concepts in isolation to ensure a solid understanding. Once students have mastered the foundational material, we transition to applying these concepts within the context of the test, using practice problems and mock sections.

We conclude with targeted instruction in test-taking strategies, including time management, question analysis, and stress reduction techniques, so students feel fully prepared and equipped to succeed on test day.
