Parent Services
Parent Support Services
For Learning Differences
In addition to student-focused services, we also offer dedicated support for parents to help them navigate their child’s academic journey with confidence. We provide targeted guidance for parents of students with learning disabilities, offering strategies and resources to better understand and advocate for their child’s unique needs.
For families exploring educational options, we assist in evaluating and selecting schools that align with their child’s learning profile and long-term goals. We also work with parents to develop practical tools and routines that can be used at home to reinforce academic progress and foster independence.
Our goal is to empower parents with the knowledge and support they need to be active, effective partners in their child’s education. Please note these services are only available to members of our community whose students actively work with us.
ARD/504 Meeting Prep
Our ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal)/504 prep meetings are designed to support parents of students with learning disabilities in confidently advocating for their child’s educational needs. Prior to the meeting, parents submit all relevant documents, including testing results and draft IEPs/504 Plans, for Christine to thoroughly review.
A personalized prep session is then scheduled, during which Christine walks through each part of the IEP/504 plan in detail with the parents. She carefully considers the family’s primary concerns and goals to create a strategic plan for the upcoming ARD/504 meeting.
Throughout the session, parents gain a clear understanding of the proposed supports and services, ensuring they feel prepared and confident in how the school will address their child’s unique learning needs.
Family Advocacy
In addition to ARD prep meetings, we offer ongoing family advocacy services to ensure students with learning disabilities receive consistent, effective support throughout the school year.
After completing a thorough ARD prep session, Christine will also attend the ARD meeting in person, serving as a knowledgeable advocate and supportive presence for the parents. She collaborates with the ARD committee, offering constructive feedback and helping to align the IEP with the student’s specific needs and goals.
This team-based approach ensures that parents feel empowered and that the student’s best interests remain at the center of the discussion. Beyond the ARD meeting, Christine continues to support families throughout the academic year by reviewing progress reports, helping draft or revise emails to school staff, and providing ongoing consultation.
This continuous partnership helps parents confidently navigate the special education system and ensures their child’s educational experience is as successful and supportive as possible.
Educational Consulting
Our educational consulting services are designed to guide families through important decisions and transitions in their child’s academic journey.
We work closely with parents to help identify the right school environment that aligns with their child’s learning profile, social-emotional needs, and long-term goals—whether that means exploring public, private, or specialized school options.
In addition, we provide trusted referrals to other professionals such as educational diagnosticians, therapists, or specialists when further evaluation or support is needed. We also assist parents in learning how to effectively communicate with school staff, helping them advocate for their child’s needs in a clear, collaborative, and constructive manner.
Through every step, we aim to empower families with the information and strategies they need to make confident, informed decisions for their child’s education.
Parent Training
We offer personalized parent training sessions to equip families with practical strategies for supporting their child’s learning at home.
These private sessions are tailored to each family’s needs and may focus on areas such as reading, math, homework support, and establishing effective home routines.
Our goal is to help parents feel confident and empowered in creating a supportive and structured environment that reinforces their child’s academic progress outside of tutoring sessions.
